Dear Indoor Cycling Instructors,

Can I guess? You absolutely thrive when teaching your indoor cycling classes because you adore your classes, yet you find yourself stumped when it's time to generate new ideas or find yourself searching online for hours for ideas.

Perhaps you feel as though your class preparation is taking up an excessive amount of time. Maybe you even grapple with anxiety around class prep, concerned about repeating the same routines time and time again. And let's not forget your collection of high-energy songs, waiting to be used in creative and impactful ways, but you're unsure how to approach them.

When I first started my Career in 1998, I had no idea what to do after I was certified. I know how to keep a class safe, but no time was spent on drill creation. I did what most of us did back in the day, I turned to Turnstep.com and would attend workshops, but spinning was in its infancy.

Over my career, I have seen the indoor cycling industry grow in good ways and not-so-good ways. I see the most amazing instructors struggle because they took the big-name certifications, but feel frustrated when it comes to actually creating drills, and that is where I would love to help.

Since founding my company, Indoor Cycling Teaching Ideas, in 2004, choreographing cycling drills has been a true passion of mine. Initially, I began by writing resource manuals and hosting workshops in the early 2000s. As time went on, my endeavor evolved into creating ebooks, fostering online communities, and eventually expanding my training internationally. Along the way, I have had the privilege of collaborating with numerous remarkable individuals within our industry.

What started as a labor of love and a means to assist others has now developed into a thriving full-time business, in addition to managing my own fitness studio. I am grateful for the opportunities I've had to contribute to the growth and professional development of indoor cycling instructors worldwide.

In this workshop, I'm excited to share with you the vast wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over 25 years of choreographing indoor cycling classes. Every technique, every strategy, every nuance that I've learned, honed, and perfected throughout my career will be at your disposal.

I'll delve into the core principles of choreography and teach you how to use them effectively in your classes. We'll explore the art of sequencing, pacing, and synchronizing drills with music to create a compelling and engaging flow and give each drill and playlist a purpose. I'll share insights on how to adapt and modify drills to cater to different skill levels, ensuring all your participants feel challenged yet capable.

More importantly, I'll break down everything in a way that is easy to understand and apply. I'll provide clear, step-by-step guidance to help you navigate through the process of creating your own drills. I'll teach you how to take a simple concept or a song and transform it into a powerful, dynamic drill that will energize your classes and captivate your participants.

This workshop isn't just about imparting knowledge—it's about empowering you to become a more creative, confident, and effective indoor cycling instructor. By the end of this experience, creating your own indoor cycling drills won't just be easy, it'll be second nature.

I am based in Richmond, BC, Canada (next to Vancouver) and thanks to covid, we now have an online platform to run courses and workshops from. This gives me the chance to connect with my international community and create a more in-depth learning experience. Testimonial: Jennifer H, NY

"The Art of Creating Indoor Cycling Drills & Playlists was a fabulous course. Rachel is truly dedicated, experienced and knowledgeable. She is, most importantly, a super fun leader! I absolutely loved the entire course. There was so much application material that went beyond a ‘level one' instructor certification course while providing a super energetic and safe place to experiment online. I absolutely loved the optional peer review of our recorded homework assignments. I enjoyed seeing the creativity and different teaching styles of my peers. I also now enjoy other music genres to use while instructing which is important. I made some great connections with people all over the world! We are going to continue staying in touch and build an even larger collaborative music library together. Rachel takes the grit of composing a ride and breaks it down into a pattern that you will be able to use, saving hours of time. I am excited to plan classes that are efficient, planned and purposeful which will keep my attendance and retention rates higher. Gift yourself this unique opportunity. You will not regret it, especially as a new instructor, or an instructor returning from a long hiatus to get your mojo back. Go for it!"

"Though I have done indoor cycling courses in the past, I've always felt like an imposter instructor, never really feeling I had what it takes to teach a class. It wasn't until I did Rachel's training that I felt confident in my teaching abilities and ready to lead an indoor cycling class without a doubt in my mind. Rachel brings a wealth of experience, both in indoor cycling and in the fitness industry herself, and she weaves this knowledge throughout her teaching. Furthermore, she is accessible, fun, and genuinely wants her students to succeed. I believe a great instructor is one who cares about her industry as well as her students, and in preparing her students for their careers prepares them to help the industry become stronger and better. Rachel does just that. I recommend her course to anyone looking to further their indoor cycling capabilities, be they seasoned instructors or first-timers to the fitness industry. Thank you, Rachel!"
